Reconcile your bank, and prove it

Categorize with AI, match payments to bank lines, and close each month with a signed-off reconciliation report.

Synced transactions are only half the job. Reconciliation is how you prove the books match the bank, and Bizdivers splits it into small, controlled steps on the Expense → Banking page.

Categorize what comes in

Synced transactions land on the Transactions tab, and anything needing a decision shows up in the Review Queue. Each line gets AI suggestions with a confidence label (High, Medium, Low); click one to open the Categorize Transaction dialog, pick the GL account, and choose Categorize & Approve. Select several rows and use AI Categorize & Approve to clear the routine ones in bulk, and set up Rules (match by description, counterparty, category, or amount range) so recurring transactions categorize themselves at sync time.

Match payments to bank lines

On the Reconciliation tab, click Run Matching and Bizdivers pairs bank transactions with the payments, journal entries, and expenses already in your books. High-confidence pairs arrive as Auto-matched; the rest wait in Pending Review with a confidence badge, and you settle each one with Confirm or Reject.

Close the month, one account at a time

The Monthly reconciliation card turns each month of a connected account into a signed-off report. The first month takes an opening balance; every month after rolls forward from the last, and months close in order. Enter the statement ending balance and Bizdivers checks that beginning plus activity equals the ending: it tells you plainly whether it ties out or is off by an exact amount, and lists any unmatched lines blocking you. When it's clean, click Prepare reconciliation.

No linked bank? Reconcile manually

Turn on Manual bank reconciliation under Settings → Banking and the Manual Rec tab appears. Upload a bank or credit card statement (CSV, Excel, or PDF), enter the printed balances, and match each statement line to a book transaction; Bizdivers suggests the best candidate for every line. A live bridge shows the adjusted bank balance against the books until it reads Reconciled.

The second signature

Here's the control that makes this audit-grade: a prepared reconciliation must be signed off by a different person. The preparer's own Review & sign off button is disabled. Once reviewed, the period locks, and the report (with outstanding checks and deposits in transit itemized) downloads as a PDF for your accountant.
