The bookkeeper's toolkit: entries, ledger, and periods

Journal entries, trial balance, general ledger, and fiscal periods: the double-entry core, with guardrails.

Under the automation, Bizdivers is a real double-entry system with the tools a bookkeeper expects. They live in the Accounting section of the sidebar.

Journal Entries

Accounting → Journal Entries. Click New Entry, set the date and description, attach supporting documents, and add lines. The totals row shows a live Balanced badge, and an unbalanced entry can't post. Posting is deliberate: once posted, an entry can't be edited, and reversing one requires a reason that's recorded on the audit trail. Recurring entries have their own tab.

Trial Balance

Accounting → Trial Balance. Pick an as-of date and basis (cash or accrual) and you get every account with debits, credits, and a clear Balanced or Out of Balance indicator, plus Export CSV.

General Ledger

Accounting → General Ledger shows every posted line across every account, grouped with running and ending balances and a grand total. Expand any row to see the full entry behind it, including which invoices a payment was applied to. Filter by date range and basis, export to CSV.

Fiscal Periods

Accounting → Fiscal Periods is where periods live, moving through Future → Open → Closed → Locked. Closing a period runs a pre-close checklist (all entries posted, trial balance balanced, bank transactions matched, no drafts left in the period) and blocks the close until errors are resolved. Closed periods can be reopened if adjustments are needed; locking is permanent and meant for after all reviews are done. Each period name links straight into the Close cockpit.
