Month-end close in most small businesses is a checklist in someone's head. Bizdivers gives it a cockpit: one screen that knows every blocker standing between you and a closed period, and won't let the period close until they're resolved.
Open the cockpit
Click Close at the top of the sidebar. Pick the period. The header shows how many blockers are cleared out of the total, and the Close period button stays disabled until everything is resolved. No honor system.
Work the buckets
Blockers are grouped into buckets: Invoices, Customer invoices, Vendors, Bank reconciliation, Expenses, Contracts, W-9 forms, Journal entries, Close reminders, and Financial statements. Each card shows its open count (or a green check when clear), and critical buckets expand automatically. Click a blocker and a drawer opens with the details and one primary action: Approve invoice, Post journal entry, Match transaction, Request W-9, and so on. You fix things at the source without hunting for them.
Accruals and adjustments
The Accruals & Adjustments section handles period-end entries: AP accruals, prepaids, depreciation, payroll accruals, true-ups. Bizdivers even suggests accruals it detects; accept one with a click or ignore it. Posting an adjustment books a journal entry, and auto-reverse books the reversing entry next period.
Close reminders
Add your own checklist items for the period. An unchecked item blocks the close, and recurring reminders can be rolled forward to the next period with one click.
Close it
When every bucket is clear, Close period lights up. Closing means no new entries can post to the period and existing entries are preserved read-only; you can still reopen it if an adjustment is needed. When you're fully done, lock the period permanently from Fiscal Periods.
Stuck? Click Ask the assistant in the cockpit header and Bizdiver starts with exactly what's blocking your close.
